2012 SPAY AND NEUTER CLINICS ARE OFFERED

Our first spay and neuter clinics for   2012 will be Sunday, March 25, 2012 .  Please call 608-847-4060 and leave a message on mailbox 2, or submit this form for an appointment at these clinics.

Sunday, March 25, 2012    Payment must be made when registering.  Deadline to register for this clinic is March 12 . 

Sunday, May 27, 2012     Payment must be made when registering.  Deadline to register for this clinic is May 14.  

Sunday, July 22, 2011   Payment must be made when registering.   Deadline to register for this clinic is July 9.

Sunday, September 23, 2011    Payment must be made when registering.  Deadline to register for this clinic is September 10.

 If you wish to bring your cat or dog to a CWNAS Spay or Neuter Clinic, you must follow these guidelines:


● Payment must be made when appointment is scheduled.  Make checks payable to Carl W. Nelson   Animal Shelter and mail to P.O. Box 345, Mauston, WI  53948.  Until we receive payment, you do not have an appointment!

** Refunds will not be given to pet owners who miss their appointments or cancel after the deadline. Our deadline to cancel is the Wednesday before the date of transport.
 
● Cats must be delivered in carriers
          Carriers must be lined with a thick layer of clean newspaper.  
         Do not line carriers with blankets, towels, etc.  Blankets and towels will not be returned.
● Dogs must be leashed or in a carrier
    
● Cats must be dropped off at between 4:00 and 5:00 p.m., and dogs must be dropped off between 5:00 and 5:30 pm, on the day specified above.  Cats and dogs must be picked up at at 6:30 p.m the following day.  Directions to this clinic will be given when registering.
  
 FEES:

  • Dog Spay (Female)  $95.00  Neuter (Male) $80.00

    • Includes rabies vaccination
    • Additional fee may be charged for retained/undescended testicle removal

  • Companion Cat Spay/Neuter $50.00

    • Includes rabies vaccination
    • Additional fee will be charged for retained/undescended testicle removal

  • Feral/Outdoor/Barn Cat Spay/Neuter $40.00

    • Includes rabies vaccination and Revolution treatment
    • Cat must be ear tipped . (If cat is not ear tipped, companion cat fee of $55.00 applies.)
    • Additional fee will be charged for retained/undescended testicle removal

  • Additional Services

    Microchip $20.00
    Distemper vaccination $5.00
    Bordetella vaccination (dogs only) $10.00
         Heartworm test $20.00
         FeLV/FIV test (cats only; must be 6 months old) $20.00
         Additional 3 days of pain medication ($15.00)
         E-collar/plastic cone to prevent licking $10.00 (dogs)
         Soft e-collar to prevent licking $15.00 (cats)
    Frontline/Advantage multi dogs - $15, cats $10
         Dentals, tooth extractions (Reserved people with a financial need. Call (608)834-2700 for information.)
    Heartworm treatment (call for information and pricing)

  • Rechecks
    • Re-checks requested within 7 days are done at no additional fee.
    • Re-checks after 7 days are $10.00
    • Written medical history report will be included with any recheck.
    • Additional fees might apply if re-suturing, antibotics or extra pain medication is necessary.

    The Carl W. Nelson Animal Shelter offers these clinics as a community service.    The Carl W. Nelson Animal Shelter does not profit from these clinics and volunteers are not paid.  All  fees go towards the cost of transportation and veterinarian services.    Donations are always appreciated.

    If you book an appointment at one of our spay and neuter clinics, please remember that the clinics are very popular and we  do have a waiting list.  If you must cancel your appointment please call 847-4060 and leave a message on mailbox 2, so that someone else may have your slot. 

    These clinics are made possible by the hard work of volunteers.  Please respect the volunteers who give many hours to the clinics and please do not ask us to stay beyond the pick up time.
